Everything Bagel Ahi Tuna Steak is a great way to enjoy this delicate and delicious piece of fish. It is packed with tremendous flavors and has a little crunch from the Everything Bagel Seasoning which makes a perfect combination. This is the perfect Tuna Steak recipe if you’re a sushi lover. If cooked the right way, it will melt right into your mouth just like a Spicy Tuna Roll.

Ingredients Needed to Make Everything Bagel Tuna Steak

  • Tuna Steak– Choose Tuna Steak that is sushi grade. I normally use Ahi Tuna which is also known as Yellowfin Tuna. Ensure your Tuna Steak has a fresh sea like aroma and a red color that is not too bright.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning– Any brand will work here. This gives the Tuna Steak a delicious flavor, along with a little crunchy texture. When using Everything Bagel Seasoning, I use less of other seasonings as this contains salt, garlic, onion and other seasonings.
  • Soy Sauce– As we know Soy sauce is packed with flavor and is great marinade, especially for fish. Low Sodium Soy Sauce is always best, as you’re able to control the amount of salt used. This is also used to make the delicious Soy Glaze Sauce I paired the Tuna Steak with .
  • Smoked Paprika– This is optional but will add a little heat and flavor to the Tuna Steak.
  • Canola Oil– Any high smoking cooking oil can be used. Fish requires a high smoking oil to be cooked right. I used Canola Oil, but of course grapeseed oil, vegetable oil or avocado oil can be substituted.
  • Honey– This is needed to make the Honey Soy Glaze. The sweetness from the honey alongside the soy sauce will give the most flavorful sauce.
  • Butter– Butter is optional, but I put just a little in the Honey Soy Glaze. Butter is so flavorful and makes everything taste so much better.

How to make the Perfect Tuna Steak

  • Choosing the right Tuna– As mentioned above, choosing the right Tuna plays a major role in making the Perfect Tuna. Sushi grade Tuna is the best option and can be found at most grocery stores. I normally get mine from Aldi.
  • The right pan– This is crucial when making any type of fish. A cast iron or nonstick skillet would be the best options. I pull my 8 ” Nonstick Skillet whenever I’m making Tuna Steaks.
  • A Fish Spatula– Having a fish spatula will definitely provide more ease when cooking fish. Fish on a whole is very delicate, so having one of these will make it so much easier when flipping your fish.
